Visit Corinth, the vibrant port city where he lived and preached, and where the early Christian community flourished under his guidance. Then, travel north to the awe-inspiring monastic cliffs of Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage site that embodies centuries of devotion, prayer, and monastic life.

Your journey continues to the Aegean islands, with destination the island of Samos, an island rich in history and closely connected to the missionary routes of the early apostles. Based in Samos, your pilgrimage continues to the holy island of Patmos. Visit the sacred Monastery of St. John and the Cave of the Apocalypse, where tradition holds that St. John received the divine revelations recorded in the Book of Revelation. Take a day trip to modern-day Turkey, with a visit to Ephesus, one of the most significant early Christian cities, where St. Paul preached and wrote his renowned epistles.

Day by day itinerary
Day 1
  • Arrival and Athens walk on the steps of St. Paul
    • Meet and greet: Welcome to Athens! Upon your arrival at the Athens International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and taken to your city hotel on a private transfer.
    • Rest of the day:On the afternoon of your arrival in Athens, and depending on the flight schedule, a leisurely guided walk will take you through the city’s lively and historic center. Begin at Areopagus (Mars Hill), where St. Paul delivered his famous sermon to the Athenians, setting the tone for your spiritual journey. Continue into Plaka, the oldest and most picturesque neighborhood of Athens, nestled at the foot of the Acropolis. This walkable and fascinating area invites you to wander through its charming alleys, discover beautiful historic churches, and soak in the authentic atmosphere of the city.

      Take a moment to pause at one of Plaka’s quaint little cafés for a coffee, or treat yourself to a delicious, flavorful Greek ice cream—an easy way to feel like a local. As you stroll past neoclassical houses and traditional colorful facades, you may catch glimpses of the sunset illuminating the skyline, creating magical views between the narrow streets. Spend the rest of your evening at your own pace, with dinner and further exploration of this magical city at night.

Day 2
  • Acropolis site and museum. Half day to Corinth.
    • Breakfast at the hotel: Start your day with a delightful breakfast before setting out to explore the wonders of Athens.

      Acropolis and museum walking tour: Begin your day with a guided morning walking tour of the Acropolis and the world-famous Acropolis Museum, accompanied by a licensed guide. Your journey starts at the south slope of the Acropolis, where you will explore the Sanctuary and Theater of Dionysus, the birthplace of ancient theater. As you ascend the sacred hill, each step reveals a new wonder, from the monumental Propylaea, the grand entrance to the Acropolis, to the elegant Temple of Athena Nike, dedicated to the goddess of wisdom and victory. The highlight of the visit is the Parthenon, the iconic symbol of classical Greece and one of the most significant monuments in world history. Continue on to the Erechtheion, a temple steeped in mythology, dedicated to both Athena and Poseidon. Enjoy the panoramic views over the city and take lots of stunning photos to remember your visit to this iconic monument.

      Continue to the Acropolis Museum, where the story-telling brings the ancient ruins to life, offering a deeper understanding of ancient Greek culture and civilization.

      Afternoon: Take a short break in Athens center for further exploration at your own pace and a light lunch. Then, depart for a half day tour to Corinth, one of the most important cities in the apostolic journey of St. Paul. Travel through the scenic Greek countryside toward the incredible Corinth Canal, a stunning engineering feat carved through solid rock: 6 km long, 23 m wide, with vertical cliffs. Make a short stop at the canal for photos, taking in the dramatic views, walking along the bridge, and soaking in the magnitude of its cliffs.

    • Continue to Ancient Corinth, where you’ll explore the archaeological site. Walk among ruins of temples, the agora, and other public buildings, paying tribute to the time when St. Paul lived and preached there.
    • Before returning to Athens, make a short photo stop at the ancient port of Kechries, taking in sea views and reflections of history. Return to Athens, arriving back in the early evening with meaningful memories of history, engineering, and early Christian heritage.
    • For the rest of the evening in Athens, enjoy the vibrant night scene of this inspirational city!Overnight accommodation is in Athens on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 3
  • Meteora -The Rock Valley with the Monasteries
    • Breakfast at the Hotel: Begin your morning with an early breakfast at your hotel before setting out for one of Greece’s most awe-inspiring destinations.

      Explore Meteora Monasteries: Take a day trip to Meteora, a remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its towering rock pillars and historic monasteries built high above the plains of Thessaly. Visit some of the Byzantine monasteries of Meteora, renowned for their frescoes, icons, and spiritual atmosphere. The combination of dramatic natural scenery and religious history makes Meteora one of the most iconic landmarks in Greece.

      Return to Athens and Overnight in Athens: After your Meteora experience, travel back to Athens. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax in the capital city.

    • Overnight at your Athens hotel on a bed and breakfast basis. Alternatively, take a late evening flight or ferry with private transfers respectively to your next destination, the island of Samos and have your overnight on BB basis in Samos.

Day 4
  • Explore the island life in Samos
    • Breakfast at the Hotel: Depending on your choice of transportation to Samos, start your day in Athens with breakfast and private transfer to the airport or port respectively. Alternatively, if you had your transportation on the previous day, start this day with your hotel breakfast at the island of Samos.

      Explore Samos Island: Take a free day at your leisure, to relax at the beach and discover Samos island at your own pace.

      Optionally, embark on a captivating day trip to the beautiful island, combining history, culture, and authentic local experiences. This trip begins with a visit to the Heraion of Samos, the ancient sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Hera and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can marvel at the impressive ruins and imagine life in classical times.

      Next, explore one of Samos’ historic monasteries, an oasis of spiritual serenity perched amidst lush landscapes, offering insight into the island’s religious traditions and monastic life. Continue your cultural immersion with a stop at a local ceramics workshop, where skilled artisans demonstrate traditional techniques, allowing you to admire and perhaps purchase unique handcrafted pieces.

      Savor the flavors of Samos with a visit to a local winery, renowned for its sweet Muscat wines, where you can enjoy guided tastings and learn about the island’s centuries-old viticulture. Finally, discover the secrets of Samos’ olive oil production, visiting a family-run olive farm and learning about the process from grove to bottle.

      This full-day excursion blends history, spirituality, artisanal craftsmanship, and gastronomy, offering a rich and authentic experience of Samos that goes beyond the typical tourist trail.

Day 5
  • Pilgrimage to the island of Patmos

    Breakfast at the Hotel: Start this day with your early breakfast at the hotel, before departing for your day to Patmos island.

    Day trip to Patmos: Set sail from Samos for a memorable day trip to the sacred island of Patmos, combining stunning Aegean scenery with a rich spiritual experience. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided exploration of Patmos town, including the Monastery of St. John, an iconic fortress-like complex perched above the town, offering breathtaking views of the island and insights into centuries of monastic life.

    Continue to the Cave of the Apocalypse, where tradition holds that St. John received the visions recorded in the Book of Revelation. Walk through this sacred site while your guide recounts its historical and religious significance, creating a deeply moving experience.

    Between sightseeing, take some time to stroll the charming streets, admire the whitewashed houses, and enjoy the island’s tranquil atmosphere.

    Return by boat to Samos in the late afternoon, concluding a day that blends history, faith, and the irresistible charm of the Greek islands.

Day 6
  • Discover the ancient city of Ephesus, Turkey

    Breakfast at the Hotel: Start this day with your early breakfast at the hotel in Samos, before departing for your day to Ephesus, Turkey.

    Day cruise to Ephesus, Turkey: Set sail from Samos early in the morning and arrive at the Turkish coast near Kuşadası, the gateway to the ancient city of Ephesus. Upon disembarkation, you’ll be met by your professional guide and transported by comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle to the archaeological site.

    Begin your exploration of Ephesus, one of the most spectacular and well-preserved Greco-Roman cities in the world. Walk along its marble-paved streets past the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian, and the Trajan Fountain, culminating in the grand Great Theater, where St. Paul is believed to have preached.

    Next, visit the House of the Virgin Mary, a sacred shrine perched on a hilltop where tradition holds that Mother Mary spent her final days.

    Continue to the Temple of Artemis, once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World: though only a few columns remain, the site offers a powerful reminder of its former grandeur.

    After a full day of guided visits, you’ll return to Kuşadası Port to board the boat back to Samos, arriving in the afternoon enriched by history, spirituality, and cultural discovery.

    • Overnight at your Samos hotel on a bed and breakfast basis. Alternatively, take the late night ferry for an overnight transportation to Pireaus/Athens and next morning take a private transfer from the port to the Athens International Airport for your international outbound flight

     

    ATTENTION: The client is responsible to posses the necessary/appropriate visa for the day trip to Turkey and the re-entry to Greece/Schengen area.

Day 7
  • Departure

    Breakfast at the Hotel: Start this day with your early breakfast at the hotel, before your private transfer takes you to the airport for your flight to Athens.

    As the plane ascends, take a moment to gaze at the sparkling Aegean below—your final glimpse of Greece’s sunlit shores, tranquil villages, and sacred sites.

    Upon arrival in Athens, you’ll connect to your international flight, carrying with you the memories of an inspiring spiritual journey—ancient monasteries, serene landscapes, and transformative experiences. As the plane departs, wave goodbye to Greece, knowing that the richness of its religious and cultural heritage will stay with you for a lifetime!

What is included
  • Private transfers from/to Athens International Airport for the inbound/outbound flight. The transfer for the outbound flight will be provided on the departure date, also in case of an extension. In case that the return flight from Samos is combined with connecting international flight, the outbound transfer will not be calculated.
  • 6 nights’ accommodation at your selected category, as follows: 3 overnights in Athens and 3 overnights in Samos. There could be alternatively ovenight at the ferry on the transportation from Pireaus (Athens) to Samos and/or back.
  • All private transfers from/to hotels to/from ports or airports for the roundtrip transportation Athens – Samos.
  • Guided 2hrs walk tour of Athens city with focus to the footsteps of St. Paul and the churches of the ancient neiborhood of Plaka. Optionally, it can be organised as a private tour.

  • Entry tickets to Acropolis and Acropolis museum. As some clients prefer to follow the walking tour but skip the entry to the sites, we do not include them in the package. In case that you wish to entry, we can purchase the tickets for you. The amounts per person are: €30 for the Acropolis site and €20 for the Acropolis museum).
  • Entrance fee to ancient Corinth archaelogical site (€15).
  • Entrance fees to the Meteora monasteries, €5 per monastery. The tour is expected to go to 3-4 monasteries and it is up to the client to visit all or some of them.
  • Any pre and post stays.
  • Everything that is mentioned as optional, available upon request.
  • Gratuities, tips and personal expenditure of any kind.
  • Hotel “Climate change resilience” tax, paid by the client on the spot at the hotels. The amounts are:
  • o 5 star hotel: 15 euros per room/per night.
  • o 4 star hotel: 10 euros per room/per night.
  • o 3 star hotel: 5 euros per room/per night.
